Kent millipedes

TMetaiulus pratensis, J.P.Richards, BMIG Kent 2011he BMIG Annual Meeting in 2011 was based at the University of Kent, Canterbury. The aim of the field work was firstly to update our distribution records of the millipede Polyzonium germanicum and secondly to collect detailed data on the habitat preferences of the millipede. Also we aimed to rediscover the rare millipede Metaiulus pratensis (left) after a gap of over twenty years. The field meeting was successful in all of these aims (meeting report here). Further work on the distribution and ecology of Metaiulus pratensis is now planned.
