Identification

This species should perhaps be correctly refered to as  Geophilus alpinus Meinert, 1870, but the name Geophilus insculptus is retained here (as used in Barber, 2009) to avoid confusion.

A yellowish-orange centipede (to 40 mm) with distinct carpophagus fossae on the anterior sternites. The arrangement of the coxal pores of the last leg pair is distinctive.
